Jason Williams died June 6. 1910 and Mary A. Williams died July 25, 1907.
Death of Jason Williams
Jason Williams, seventy-six years of age and a pioneer resident of Somersett township, died Monday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hazzard Porter, six miles east of Lineville, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held today, conducted by Rev. M. H. Kaufman, pastor of the M. E. Church, after which the remains will be interred in the Lowry cemetery by the side of the wife who preceded him in death three years ago. Mr. Williams was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, in July 1833, and was there reared to manhood and married to Sarah Ann Jenniker. Six children survive the parents. These are Ira, George and Levi Williams, Mrs. Ella Nichols, Mrs. Mattie Brown and Mrs. Florence Porter. Mrs. Williams died in July 1907. The deceased emigrated to Missouri more than forty years ago and settled in Somersett township where he has since resided. He was a member of the M. E. Church and was a faithful and consistent christian. He was honored and respected by all who knew him and has many friends in the community who will morun his passing. |
Death of Mrs. Williams
Mrs. The sudden death of Mrs. Jason Williams at her home in the east part of the county, on Thursday of last week, came as quite a shock to her many friends. She was taken ill that morning, and in spite of all that could be done, she passed away that night. Heart trouble was the cause of her death. Funeral services were conducted by Elder Fanning at the Ilia park Saturday, and the remains were interred in the Lowry cemetery. Mary E. Reneker was born in Ohio in the year 1836. She was married to Jason Williams in 1855. To this union were born eight children, six of whom, with the husband, survive her. She was a good Christian lady, having been a member of the M. E. church for the past forty years. She was an excellent lady and had many friends who deeply sympathize with the bereaved husband and children.. |
