Mrs. Cynthia Gibson succumbed yesterday; funeral service tomorrow
afternoon. (can not read first line) the home of her daughter Elizabeth Rakestraw,
413 Park Ave., death came to relieve the suffering of Mrs. Cynthia Gibson, a
resident of this city for the past three years. Mrs. Gibson had been ill
much of the time during the three years she resided here, and for the past
eleven or twelve weeks she had been confined to her bed as a result of a
stroke of paralysis.
Mrs. Gibson was born in Campbell county, TN., March 30 (LOOKS LIKE #D)
1837, spending her girlhood days there,. In 1854 she was united in marriage
to Henry Gibbon. Nine children were born to this union, six of whom survive
the mother. The husband and father passed away in 1894. the six surviving
children are Mrs. K H Faulkner of Portland Oregon; Mrs. Mollie Brown of
Norman OK., and Mrs. Rakestraw, of this city, with whom the mother had made
her home in recent years. three son surviving are James, Sterling and Jerry
Gibson all of whom reside in Missouri.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock form
the home of the grandson E H Gilbert, 726 West Main street. The services
will be conducted by the Rev. Robert H Forrester, pastor of the Methodist
church, deceased having been a member of that church since early child hood.
Burial will be made in Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
